STRENGTH TO ACHIEVE
Have you ever felt hindered in achieving something you set out to do? Even as I prepare these lessons, there are times I have no clue how to proceed. It’s only when I stop to pray, asking the Lord for His help, that things begin to fall into place. I cannot do this or anything else without Him. When we require God as vital in our lives, we are able to accomplish things we never thought possible. It’s important to humble ourselves and admit our need of Him. When we stop depending on ourselves and recognize it’s only through Christ we are strong, we are one step closer to the abundant life He came to give us. Requiring God, His Presence, Word, and grace is vital to Kingdom living.
Please read each of the verses in the Amplified version of the Bible. You can find it on Bible Gateway if you don’t have one available. I think this translation adds more depth to our topic this week.
Read Isaiah 45:24
1. What does the Lord alone provide?
Read Philippians 4:13
2. How does this verse add to the truth of the scripture above? Which phrase stand out to you personally?
Read Psalm 18:30-36
3. List all the things the Lord does for those who take refuge in Him. Take special note of verse 32.
Read Luke 1:37
4. What circumstance can you apply this truth to today? What does this verse say about the words that come from God?
Just as righteousness comes from Christ alone, so our strength comes from Him alone as well. I am not righteous without Him, nor am I strong. It’s important to recognize both of these truths. The Amplified Bible says, “Only in the Lord shall one say, I have righteousness and strength to achieve.” It’s what Jesus provided at the Cross…our right standing with God the Father. And the strength we need for daily living to achieve God’s purposes. God becomes vital to us when we realize His divine power is available to us for everything we need. We need not look to anyone else…He provides it all! Stop and think about that!
FROM ORLANDO FL.
The LORD provides everything for me – not just one or two items – HE is my everything in my life – I start each day talking to HIM just like HE is in the room with me – that is just how much I need HIM in my life – I ask HIM to guide my footsteps in the places HE would like to have me go and let me help someone each day of my life – just cannot get away from needing HIM in my life each second – minute or hour – GOD is so good – GOD is still on the throne to help each one of us. The verse in Philippians does not just say we can do just one thing in our lives – I can do all things through HIM which is my strength – the word that stand out to me are “all things I can do with CHRIST” – we receive wonderful strength also. GOD does all things for me – perfect way – HIS word is tried and true – HE is my buckler – HE is my rock – HE is my strength – HE makes my way perfect – HE helps me upon my high places – HE is with me in my wars – I have HIS shield of salvation – I have HIS gentleness which makes me great – I have HIS steps under me so that my feet cannot slip. The next verse and question – my oh my – MY OH MY – I use these words each day of my life because there is nothing impossible with GOD in our lives – HE is so good and HE is so wonderful to each one of us – Where – oh – Where would you and I be with him in our lives – I just do not want to even try a second – a minute – an hour without HIM in my life – The LORD is my rock and my fortes each and every day – I think I will just dwell on this lesson for the whole week – GOD makes my life wonderful – Thanks again – Karen for such a wonderful lesson and asking us to dwell on these scriptures – SO WONDERFUL.
