He Stoops Down for Us
Just imagine God stooping down to pull us up to Him to make us great. That’s exactly what the Bible says in 2 Samuel 22. He makes my way perfect. He enables me to stand on the heights. He broadens the path beneath me so my ankles do not turn. I love this passage of scripture. This theme is repeated in Psalm 113, where we learn that the One who sits enthroned on high stoops down to look at the heavens and earth. To raise the poor from the dust and lift the needy from the ash heap. That’s one big reason to Praise the Lord! Because the Lord lifts us to a higher walk of holiness, let’s take a look at how we should respond to His grace and mercy toward us.
Read Ephesians 4:22-24
1. What is the higher call of believers?
Read Ephesians 4:25
2. What should we reject or put off?
Read Ephesians 4:26-27
3. How should believers deal with anger?
Read Ephesians 4:29
4. What is the higher call regarding our speech?
Read Ephesians 4:30
5. What do you learn about the Holy Spirit in this verse?
The Bible encourages us to come up higher in our attitudes and actions. Paul commanded the Ephesians to put off the former way of life and to put on the new self created to be like God. The verse that bridges these two commands explains how: “Be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude.” Attitudes are basically our thoughts expressed on the outside of our body. Have you ever read someone’s body language without hearing a word they had to say? Our thought life affects our actions. It’s revitalized by the study of God’s Word, which results in a fresh mental and spiritual attitude. God plants our feet on higher ground as we continue to seek His Kingdom first and above all other things. He did it all for us. Imagine Him stooping down for you. That’s why He came. For you. How will you respond?
Merry Christmas to you all!
We are to put on a new person which GOD has created in righteousness and holiness – It is so wonderful to walk each day of our lives with HIM – HE always makes everything right in our lives and someday we will be going to live with HIM – such a wonderful thought – HE renews our minds and makes us NEW. We should put away lying and speak truth to everyone. Dealing with Anger in us and sin not – always be ready to say I am sorry for things – that is following after GOD and HIS ways in our lives. Stomp on the devil each day of your life. We really should take control of our mouths each day of our lives – use the good communication each day – we will lead others to HIM using the good words out of our mouths. We should never grieve the Holy Spirit of GOD – WATCH OUR MOUTHS EACH DAY of our lives.
Such a wonderful lesson and so good for us to study on these things – we can all do much better and be more like HIM. Thanks – Karen – wonderful lesson again – enjoy them so much.
