What is Vital? Lesson 11

STRENGTH TO ACHIEVE

Have you ever felt hindered in achieving something you set out to do? Even as I prepare these lessons, there are times I have no clue how to proceed. It’s only when I stop to pray, asking the Lord for His help, that things begin to fall into place. I cannot do this or anything else without Him. When we require God as vital in our lives, we are able to accomplish things we never thought possible. It’s important to humble ourselves and admit our need of Him. When we stop depending on ourselves and recognize it’s only through Christ we are strong, we are one step closer to the abundant life He came to give us. Requiring God, His Presence, Word, and grace is vital to Kingdom living.

Please read each of the verses in the Amplified version of the Bible. You can find it on Bible Gateway if you don’t have one available. I think this translation adds more depth to our topic this week.

Read Isaiah 45:24

1. What does the Lord alone provide?

Read Philippians 4:13

2. How does this verse add to the truth of the scripture above? Which phrase stand out to you personally?

Read Psalm 18:30-36

3. List all the things the Lord does for those who take refuge in Him. Take special note of verse 32.

Read Luke 1:37

4. What circumstance can you apply this truth to today? What does this verse say about the words that come from God?

Just as righteousness comes from Christ alone, so our strength comes from Him alone as well. I am not righteous without Him, nor am I strong. It’s important to recognize both of these truths. The Amplified Bible says, “Only in the Lord shall one say, I have righteousness and strength to achieve.” It’s what Jesus provided at the Cross…our right standing with God the Father. And the strength we need for daily living to achieve God’s purposes. God becomes vital to us when we realize His divine power is available to us for everything we need. We need not look to anyone else…He provides it all! Stop and think about that!
