God’s Eternal Security
Maybe it’s a woman thing to desire stability in life, but I admit to cherishing as much security as I can get. It’s what my stable Christian home provided and eventually transferred over to my relationship with Jesus Christ. For it’s in Him alone that I find a hedge of protection and provision. The truth is that we are saved by grace. But grace is also where we find our strength and enablement for living. Let’s take a look at a few scriptures that speak to the higher road that leads to a firm, stable foundation. Real security. Don’t you long for that?
Read Proverbs 22:5
1. What is on the path of the obstinate and how do we stay away from it?
Read Hebrews 12:1-2
2. What is suggested for running on the higher path?
Read Hebrews 12:14-15
3. For what reason should we live in peace and pursue holiness?
4. What warning is given?
Read Hebrews 12:26-28
5. What can be removed and what will remain? What kind of Kingdom are we receiving on this higher path? (see the Amplified Bible for clarity)
Hebrews tells us that we can receive a Kingdom that is firm and stable and cannot be shaken. I’m all for that. But there’s always a condition for God’s blessings. It’s not that we strive to earn favor with God, but we do reap what we sow. These verses encourage us to focus on Jesus, making firm straight paths for our feet. We are urged to watch out for distractions along the way that hinder us from the higher road. Hebrews refers to runners of that day who stripped off anything that might hold them back. It’s a great example for us today to stay focused in a world filled with distractions. Fixing our eyes on Jesus will help us run the race on the higher path that leads to life eternal life. Jesus did it all for us. His security is eternal. How will we respond to His grace?
The path is filled with thorns and snares for those who do not give their soul to GOD – and HIS soul will be far from them also. Each one of us should lay aside every sin and weight that is dragging us down each day – You and I should always be looking unto JESUS who made you and I and also HE will be our lead and guide for the race we must run – we must always look until HIM – JESUS hung on the cross for each one of us and now HE is sitting on the right hand of the throne. We must always live in peach and pursue holiness in our lives because if not – we will not be able to see the LORD – we do not want any root of bitterness in us – you and I want to be real before the LORD and closer to HIM. I want a Kingdom that is firm and stable and cannot be shaken (I love your words) – Me also – HIS second coming will be shaking more than just the earth – the things that are anchored in the LORD will not be shaken or removed – You and I will be in HEAVEN with HIM if our hearts are right with HIM. I want to live my life down here on earth so that others will see that serving the LORD is a wonderful promise – Love this lesson also – Karen – wonderful things to ponder upon during the week.
