Enter In
The Bible declares that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. There is no other way to the Father except through Jesus Christ our Lord. Because of His sacrifice, we have the privilege to enter into the very presence of God, pursuing intimacy with the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Read Hebrews 10:19-20
1. Where do we have confidence to enter? By what means? What is opened up to us? What does the curtain or veil represent?
Read Hebrews 6:19-20
2. What is behind the curtain and what does it provide for us? To what are you anchored today?
Read Hebrews 4:16
3. What do we receive when we approach the throne of God with confidence?
Read Hebrews 10:22 Isaiah 29:13
4. Contrast how we should and should not draw near to God.
Moses spent more time in the presence of God than most people of his day, but the people of Israel desired His blessings more than His presence. They served God if it was beneficial to their well-being but resisted getting too close to God Himself. While they praised Him for miracles, they also complained in the face of opposition. Over and over again they would say, “Wouldn’t it have been better for us if…”
Israel was not concerned about the higher purposes and plans of God even though He was continually working for their good. They didn’t trust in the God whom Moses knew so intimately. We might criticize their lack of faith, but these things were written as a warning for us as well. May we be a people who draw near to God, approaching His throne with confidence. The Most Holy Place has been opened to us so we can find His grace that is sufficient for every need. It’s our choice how close we want to get to God. But remember, He will be the anchor for our soul when we draw near to Him.
We have boldness and confidence to enter into the holiest of Jesus by having his blood applied to our lives. The curtain or veil represents Jesus flesh – just to enter into HIS holiest is a wonderful thing. We have hope which is an anchor of our soul – it is both sure and steadfast – We should be anchored to Jesus by our lives we live each day – HE is so good to us in our lives – we should be showing other people the way of living for Jesus down here on this earth. I just want to live each day as HE would have in my live and be a help to others along the way.
You and I must enter boldly unto the throne of grace and obtain mercy and find grace to help us in the time of need in our lives. We need to draw very near to Jesus with a true heart full of faith – away from an evil conscience and we should be washed with pure water. Sometimes we draw near to HIM with our mouths and lips and honor HIM – but many times have removed our hearts far from HIM and lots of times we listen to what men are saying mostly. I always want to be listening to the words of JESUS and honor him by living my life wholly for him on this earth. We need to strive much harder in our lives.
Again a wonderful lesson – Thanks Karen
